For "The Good Life" project, artist Carlos Motta asked Ashley Hunt, Oliver Ressler, Maria Mercedes Gomez and Naeem Mohaiemen to respond to the question "what does democracy mean to you?" The responses were presented in a take-away publication (edition: 2000) which was part of Carlos' multi-channel video installation at ICA. "The Good Life", a long-term, in-progress, experimental documentary project, engages and critiques documentary practice itself. It is an examination of the regional history, perception and effects of US interventionist policies in Latin America, at a time of global critical awareness of those politics.
